Review – Bugaboo Cameleon

We were purchased our Bugaboo by my very generous in-laws when I was pregnant with Little Mr A.  When we found out we were having a girl we decided to keep the pram and just change the colour of the material as we had originally bought blue.  We did not want to get a new pram as the Bugaboo is still in great condition and it seemed silly to buy a whole new pram when we could change the colour for around £70.
Although the Bugaboo Cameleon is rather expensive (especially if purchased with the Maxi Cosi car seat) it is well worth the money!

It is really easy to collapse and put back up when going out shopping.  Also, with the correct adapters you can put the Maxi Cosi car seat onto the frame so you don’t have to disturb your baby if you are only popping out for a short while.

The other benefit from the Cameleon is that when your baby is big enough to go into the pushchair, all you have to store is some material, not a bulky pram section as the material for the pushchair fits onto the same frame that the pram uses.  This is great for us as our loft is full of baby clothes and toys that I still haven’t been able to part with!

There are lots of colours to choose from and you can buy matching footmuffs and parasols.  We decided on a nice jade green this time (just in case we have anymore children it would be perfect for a boy or girl!).

There are two small wheels and two big wheels which means you can chose to push either way around depending on the terrain you are on.  Also, when using the pushchair, you can push/pull it on two wheels so that you can take it on the beach.

The wheels are easily removable which is useful if your car does not have a huge boot.  We have been on a few trips out with my Mum and have managed to get the whole pram in the boot of a Punto with a little bit of space left for a couple of shopping bags!

It is very easy to manouvere, really simple to steer and, because the wheels have suspension, going over bumps and down steps does not disturb Little Miss A too much either.

The Cameleon is also really light and I have managed to carry it up and down a couple of steps on my own when I have been out shopping!

As for comfort, the pram attachment comes with a good quality mattress which is OK for occasional overnight sleeping which is great if you are going away for a night or two as you don’t have to take a travel cot/Moses basket with you.  The mattress also has a washable cover, perfect for those little accidents!  When changed over to the pushchair attachment, this can be easily laid right back so baby can still sleep well without having to be sitting upright.

I would definitely recommend going into a store that sells the Bugaboo and ask for a demonstration of all the features – this really sold it to us!

If you have the money to invest it really is an excellent choice!
